I Met the Devil

The day I met thee,
I didn’t see the tree.
The forest before me was the key,
To grander that confused me.
As I played in your silence,
You deceived me.
In your presence I was not afraid,
I accepted your beauty under veil.
It brought pleasure,
Enclosed me in your shell.
It was you I loved,
there was no other kind.
You were so real,
So real the reality of my mind.
It made no difference of the strife,
I still wanted you to be apart of my life.
I looked in the water,
I could see no other.
It was your reflection that was the deception.
I went back to the well to look,
Deep into your wisdom was the knowledge,
Of the darkness staring back at me.
